Philips is a big surprise for us. They just announced the sale of its Philips DVD and Blu-Ray related technology activities to Moser Baer from India.
Philips OM&T division (Optical Media & Technology) employs approximately 50 people in Eindhoven and had turnover in 2006 of approximately EUR 10 million. The transfer of ownership to Moser Baer is effectuated retroactively from January 1, 2007.
Also Philips buy Partners in Lighting International. They develops, manufactures and markets a broad portfolio of more than 10,000 distinct home lighting luminaires under brand names such as Massive, TRIO and Lirio, and concepts like Aqua, LED and Cucina.
So, Philips switch Blu-Ray with home lighting luminaires…
