same thing happened to me my i Pod touch got damaged and the multi touch function didnt work(couldnt unlock the ipod) so I got it replaced for free in like 15mins when I got to the apple store 2months ago

yea cuz you had a warranty, they replaced my ipod touch for free cuz of it
my friend got replaced by saying they dropped it so it was they had to replace it for free because it was their problem haha
My friend told me her BF got it replaced for free at the apple store as well.
My whole screen is cracked so I went there and the staff told me it will cost $250 to get it repaired.

not with the 3GS. They give you a new one because they have very few refurbs since theyre newer.

You do know that replacing the screen is an easy job – thats all apple will of done. there’s tons of vids on youtube showing how to replace the screen
