Testing my new camera. Sorry for shaky hand… I’ve got scared of dropping the camera so had to put the strip around my neck just for safety

Several hand-held video tests with the Canon PowerShot SX20 IS. I was interested to see how this camera would behave in dusty/sunny conditions while being treated like a point-and-shoot camera (so little to no time for shot setups). Considering this is not a dedicated video recorder, I’m very happy with its picture/sound quality and long battery life. My only complaints: the Auto Focus gives occasional trouble and the zoom function is rather unusable due to motor noise and no variable speeds. Technical notes: Footage was transcoded to Apple ProRes 422 with Apple Compressor, edited in Final Cut Pro (smoothCam filter applied to overly jerky shots), exported for YouTube to H264 with MPEG StreamClip at 720P, 40 Mbps video data rate.

@prashee001 It has two zoom speeds – slow and fast, no variable zooming
