install HELIX LAUNCHER and Compact QWERTY Keyboard if the T9 and the interface annoys you
Helix launcher u can find on google.
The Compact QWERTY u get at the android marketplace.
normal QWERTY also works ok, but its a bit small. (You CAN then switch it to landscape mode) and its easier.
Ive done it on my x10 mini and it works great!
