@tjagolf33 No, nothing to worry about. H is HSPA, which is faster than 3G.

Hey Jenn I just followed your guide and it worked perfectly for me! I was wondering, though, it doesn’t matter that the data connection says “H” instead of “3g”, right?

@lMordredl The 2.1 update fixed it. The buttons only freaked out from using Superboot method to root stock AT&T ROM.

This is the official AT&T unit.

@scaronscar No problems at all for me. Check the tutorial on StreakSmart for instructions on how to do it.

I noticed that the buttons aren’t angered in this video. How did you fix that? Is this the beta or the official US unit?

That was a typo. Sorry!

It’s correctly identified in the tutorial and of course in Settings -> About Phone (as shown). :-)

This would be great as just a multimedia device, but I think it’s far too big to be a practical phone because it won’t fit in your pocket properly and like you said, “it looks comical” when it’s up to your ear.

@elsanchokaki

Not having flash is a shame right at launch, but Dell has done a great job skinning the device. It’s very usable as a daily phone (once you get over the sheer size of the device).

@AnnaMishel

1 &2) The kindle app really takes advantage of the 5″ screen, it’s much more useable than on the iPhone’s 3.5″display. The cool thing about the Amazon app is that ALL of your purchased books are available wherever you want (iPhone, Computer, Android Phone) with updated notes and automatic bookmarks.

3) I have 2.2 running on a Nexus One and flash is very good. The steak has an identical processor so it should be just as good.

these are my questions
1) how does a kindle book look on the Dell Streak?
(On my Iphone I am constantly turning pages because the screen is so small)
2) Will I be able to download the Amazon Kindle books (I already paid for) onto my Dell Streak?
3) Will the ALL videos that play on my computer (I’m assuming they are using Flash 10.1) play on my Streak . . after the 2.2 upgrade?

android 1.6! FAIL!!!!!!!!!!

You’ll have to google for it because I can’t post links here. The bluetooth issues are due to Android 1.6, once the 2.2 upgrade comes you’ll have more options.

It looks like it’ll be this month but we won’t know for certain until the official announcement from Dell and At&t.
