Hi,
Did you know there’s another video of the action on the Greenpeace website, including a challenge to creatively bin/recycle your bulbs! http://greenpeace.org/brightidea

Good job guys, how much enegry did it take to make all those lightbulbs that went to waste by being crushed?

Congradulations Hippies, youve conquered nothing. Now go do something productive.

This is cracking me up. I’m all for energy conservation and all that, but this media event is just screaming ‘Failure’, for several reasons. first off, the ‘road roller’ they are using looks like a toy, maybe something a rich american kid would use to play in his sand box. I loved how the photographers were laying on the ground in order to make the machine look.. well.. menacing. It certainly couldn’t look any less intimidating.
Second, when the mighty machine does roll in to smite the light bulbs, most of them just scurry away ahead of the roller. If you look at the pavement under the roller, there’s maybe five or six actual crushed bulbs. I bet someone was wishing that they’d at least done a tiny bit of a preliminary run through before inviting the press folks.

And who is going to clean up the mess? More energy wasted. Not to mention the fossil fuels burned by the roller. Bloody idiots. The lot of them.

Great waste of the resources that went into making the bulbs… Here is an idea…. Loby for the phasing out of the bulbs instead of just wasting what is already made…. Is that too logical for environmentalists??? Stupidity at it’s finest.

greenpeace is retarded. what do u hope to gain from crushing 1000 lightbulbs?? uve just created a massive amount of waste, and there was what, 10..20 people watching? way to make a difference. go drive ur energy efficient car off a cliff u douche!

Makes about as much sense as Greenpeace ever does.
Ever for their commission door to door canvassors and their conventions and accomodations at 5 star hotels.
