only a year and a half per phone?… i’ve hade my same old cell for the past 7 years. people need to take better care of there possions, so they dont have to end up in the landfill’s in the first place.

I work in a cell phone store and the owners didn’t even know about recycling when I was hired on. We now recycle many of them. I don’t know why the government doesn’t require a core charge on the purchase of new cellphones. They require me to return old car parts and battery’s, why not cellphones? It’s another way to either bring in profit to subsidize development of more eco-friendly cellphones, or just get the old ones off the streets.

It’s more important to hold onto your cell phone as lon as you can. If you need to buy a new one then buy refurbished. Stop giving cell phone companies the right to profit at the expense of our environment

If there are no cell phone recycling or collection sites near you,

recyclemycellphone . org

will pay ALL the shipping charges so you can send it to them for recycling for FREE.

We all have a responsibility to do the right thing. With an awesome web site like this around, none of us have any excuse not to protect our environment. Please recycle!

I believe that people inherently know its wrong to throw away their cell phone. Hopefully some of the recycling cell phone services beef up their marketing to get the word out.

Do the right thing and recycle your old cell phone or find a way to put it to re-use!!!

as a society, we must move from a mindset of disposability to one where materials are recycled in an endless loop with minimal loss… companies will not lead the charge – people must DEMAND it.

i think more action needs to be done in Canada. there is no program awareness for cell phones, and no one here are informed about environmental impact. there are no bins in cell retail distributors and i think it should be it should be government regulated. if people do not want to drink toxic water, im sure everyone would do there part. the problem is the message is not out there.

Four times expensive as regular poles… and the guy said it would cost too much to make every pole disguised… I call B.S.

Phone companies make a humongous profit off of us. They could easily camouflage the poles without, even slightly, dipping into their piggy banks.

I conceal antenna’s for a living and have been on many courses. we wear RF ( microwave) detection devices.

The power emitted is only dangerous with continual close proximity ie a metre or so. then it disipates very quickly. A handset is more dangerous long term to your health.
